Testimonial from a VHS family
John Scarano's mother, Rosina, was a resident of VHS for quite a long time. She passed away and John wanted to share his family's experience:
"Valley Health Services and specifically 1West will always be near and dear to my heart. As a family, we trusted Valley Health for the care and rehab of our mother and that trust was never ever in doubt. Our family was allowed to utilize the venue for privacy for occasions when needed, for special meals for the family to attend on holidays and an outside gazebo when the weather allowed.
Activities for our mother were always available as well as musical entertainment which she always enjoyed. Valley Health has a Bell Choir which our mother was a part of; they actually would travel around to perform so I would attend - kind of like a Bell Choir groupie.
Most important and paramount in our decision for our mother to be a resident of Valley Health was the care. We were able to observe the level of care given to the residents because of other relatives being in Valley Health - so the decision was easy. The care that our mother received was the reason she was able to reach the age of 95.
The staff on 1 West was always there for her and the family; they loved referring to her as Gram. As a family, our visits were frequent and may I add that the staff on 1West always made us feel like part of their family. Looking back, Valley Health was the right decision. Our family is at peace with that and will always recommend Valley Health Services."
