Nurse Navigators
What is a Nurse Navigator?
Bassett Cancer Institute’s nurse navigators are the patient’s first point of contact after receiving a cancer diagnosis. A nurse navigator’s role is to help these patients understand what happens after a cancer diagnosis, assist in scheduling appointments, educate patients about their disease, symptoms, and treatment, and coordinate care with all involved specialists and support staff.
Cancer Diagnoses We Help Navigate

- Gastrointestinal cancer, including liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, and esophageal cancer
