Cancer Care
Bassett Cancer Institute
Our cancer center consists of a team of nationally accredited medical, radiation, and surgical oncologists, as well as oncology-certified registered nurses. Our support staff includes nutritionists, social workers, financial counselors, and nurse navigators to ensure that you are receiving the highest level of comprehensive cancer care. We make every effort to support you and your family with the resources and guidance that you need during the cancer treatment process.
Oncology & Hematology
Nearly all forms of cancer call for more than one type of treatment, which is why our team of hematologists and medical, radiation, and surgical oncologists work together with oncology-certified nurses, social workers, nutritionists, physical therapists, and other experienced staff to develop a personalized cancer treatment plan for each patient.
We utilize imaging services such as PET scans, a 3T MRI machine, and comprehensive interventional radiology procedures. Our hematologists help diagnose and treat blood diseases and disorders using bone marrow biopsies.
We encourage you to schedule an appointment with your primary care practitioner if you or a loved one is:
- At high-risk of cancer due to family history or a genetic mutation
- Due for routine screening based on your age or medical history
- Experiencing symptoms that could be a red flag for cancer
- Seeking a second opinion for a cancer diagnosis or treatment recommendations
Your primary care practitioner can refer you to our cancer specialists for screening. Learn more about the different types of cancer and what to expect after a cancer diagnosis.

Complete, Accredited Cancer Care
Our team of hematologists, oncologists, nurses, and support staff all work together to provide comprehensive treatment plans for our patients – which extends to post-treatment follow-up plans. The cancer registry collects data on all cancer patients diagnosed and treated in our facility, and provides feedback to our patient’s practitioners regarding quality of care. This assures that all cancer patients treated at the Bassett Cancer Institute receive the correct follow-up care for the rest of their lives.
