Please visit our residency Benefits & Rewards page for the most recent stipends and benefits. For the 2024-2025 academic year, PGY-1 interns are being paid $66,610 and Chief Residents currently make $79,616.
Intern orientation began on June 18, 2025.
Clinical duties begin on June 26, 2025.
Each year, chief residents are responsible for maintaining a call schedule that is fair and compliant with the ACGME duty hour rules. Click here to view a sample on-call schedule.
We’ve had a first attempt pass rate of 100% since 2016 for the ABS qualifying (written) examination and a first attempt pass rate of 91% since 2020 for the ABS certifying (oral) examination.
Yes. Bassett is the only rural surgery program listed by the American College of Surgeons for the Northeastern region.
Yes. In the last 3 years, we matched our residents to bariatrics/MIS and cardiothoracic fellowships.
