Visiting Hours

At Bassett Medical Center (BMC), we understand being in the hospital is an anxious time for patients, their families, and their friends. Visitation and the support of loved ones, as well as active involvement in the patient’s care, can promote wellness.

General Inpatient Visits (A.O. Fox Hospital, Bassett Medical Center, Little Falls Hospital, & O’Connor Hospital): 8:00am – 8:00pm, Daily
General Inpatient Visits (Cobleskill Regional Hospital): Noon – 8:00pm, Daily
Pediatrics: 8:00am – 8:00pm
Intensive Care Unit (ICU): 11:00am – 6:00pm
Special Care Unit (SCU): 11:00am – 6:00pm
Inpatient Psychiatry:
- Monday through Friday: 5:00pm – 8:00pm
- Weekends: Noon – 6:00pm
Birthing Center:
- Adults: 11:00am – 8:00pm
- Children: 11:00am – 6:00pm
Outpatient Dialysis: 8:30am – 9:30am & 1:30pm – 2:30pm with 1 visitor / patient (12 years old or older)
A.O. Fox Nursing Home: 24 hours per day (preferred visitation between 9:00am – 7:00pm, daily)
Valley Health Services: 24 hours per day (preferred visitation hours between 9:30am – 9:00pm, daily)
Outpatient Appointments: At the time of care
Outpatient Procedures: At the time of care
Emergency Department: At the time of care

Pediatric Unit

There is unlimited visitation on the pediatric inpatient unit for parents and grandparents. One parent is encouraged to remain overnight with the child. Siblings who are not ill may visit for brief periods, but must be supervised by an adult. Two other visitors, in addition to parents and grandparents, are allowed during regular visiting hours.

Inpatient Psychiatry Unit

Visiting hours for the inpatient psychiatry unit are from 3:00pm - 7:00pm daily. Visiting at other than the established visiting hours can be arranged with the treatment team. There is no age limit. Healthy children are allowed to visit, but they must be accompanied by an adult.
