About Bassett Medical Center
About Us
Bassett Medical Center, the foundation of the Bassett Healthcare Network, is an acute care inpatient facility in Cooperstown, New York, with missions of patient care, teaching, and research. Providing a wide range of specialty care, the medical center offers post-graduate residency training programs in Medicine and Surgery and maintains a strong academic program through its affiliation with Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, an affiliation highlighted by the establishment of the Columbia-Bassett Medical School Program.
Through the Bassett Regional Network, Bassett physicians and other health professionals provide preventive, primary, convenient, and specialty outpatient care at various rural health clinics and school-based health centers throughout an eight-county region. Ambulatory patient visits for the system approach 700,000 annually.
The Bassett Research Institute located in Cooperstown and the New York Center for Agricultural Medicine and Health conduct research in basic and clinical science, as well as population and public health studies. Acute inpatient care is provided at affiliated hospitals: O'Connor Hospital in Delhi, Cobleskill Regional Hospital, Little Falls Hospital, and A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta.
