Division Chief of Neurology

I love the investigational nature of this field of medicine. One must take the patients history and couple it with a detailed neurological exam, lab work, and imaging to render a diagnosis.

Neurology isn’t like what it used to be. We can help a lot of people now.

Here are a few of my favorite hobbies:

  • Movies / TV
  • Books
  • Weight lifting
  • Cars
  • Watches
  • Tesla
  • Stock market investing

I chose Neurology because I admired the Neurology Chief resident when I did my Neurology rotation as a 4th year medical student.

Here are a few fun facts about me:

  • I have seen 6 of the 7 Wonders of the World (Great Wall of China is all I have left).
  • I once won a horse back race around one of the pyramids.

Neurology chose me! I am the telemedicine hospitalist PA for MIBH, so I support all inpatient telemedicine services. In 5 years of supporting our telestroke / teleneuro inpatient service, I have had the privilege of working with and being taught by our excellent partners from the University of Rochester Medical Center, who have helped me to understand the inpatient practice of neurology, but also to love it.

My hobbies include:

  • Traveling as much as I can
  • Reading
  • Gardening

Fun fact: I lack any common sense about how many tomatoes to put in the ground each spring, and I am always overwhelmed at some point by my garden, though I am never at a loss for what to do with my tomatoes.

Our Neurology Services / Procedures

At Bassett Neurology, we are committed to offering a comprehensive range of diagnostic and treatment options to address a wide spectrum of neurological disorders. We strive to create a comfortable and supportive environment where you feel confident and informed throughout your journey with us.

Our services include:

  • Botox for Migraine: We offer Botox injections as a proven treatment option for chronic migraines, helping to reduce their frequency and severity.
  • Botox for Spasticity: We offer Botox injections as a proven treatment option for spasticity, blocking the release of a neurotransmitter called acetylcholine, which reduces the signals that cause muscles to contract.
  • EMG / NCS (Electromyography / Nerve Conduction Studies): These vital diagnostic tests help us evaluate nerve and muscle function, assisting in the diagnosis of neuromuscular disorders.
  • EEG (Electroencephalography): Our EEG services are essential for diagnosing and managing seizure disorders and other neurological conditions affecting brain activity. We offer both routine and extended outpatient EEG, as well as continuous inpatient monitoring.
  • Lumbar Puncture (Spinal Tap): We perform lumbar punctures for the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases affecting the central nervous system.
