Delhi, NY – The American Hospital Association (AHA) announced that it has honored O’Connor Hospital in Delhi, N.Y. in appreciation of its 50 years of participation and leadership in the AHA. O’Connor Hospital is part of Bassett Healthcare Network.
AHA Regional Executive Michael Draine presented the award to Susan Oakes Ferrucci, Chief Hospital Executive and Chief Nursing Officer of Bassett Healthcare Network's Critical Access Hospital Division, on October 6.
“The American Hospital Association is proud to recognize O’Connor Hospital for 50 years of membership in the AHA and for their continued commitment to serving their patients and rural New York State community,” said Draine. “We thank their leaders, caregivers, and other staff for their dedication to improving health and providing the highest quality care.”
In 2000, O’Connor was one of the first hospitals in New York State to receive federal designation as a critical access hospital. Today, O’Connor is licensed for 23 acute care medical/surgical beds. O’Connor is a model for small rural facilities, offering a wide range of clinical services as well as access to medical and surgical specialties.
“This is a very proud moment for our exceptional team of caregivers at O’Connor Hospital,” shared Oakes Ferrucci. “This hospital – a gem nestled in the northernmost part of the Catskill Mountains – serves a diverse patient population and offers crucial access to care for many rural communities, vacation towns, and ski resorts. As a critical access hospital, we are often the first point of care in this region. Celebrating this 50-year relationship with the AHA is meaningful and a testament to this institution’s decades of dedicated care.”
O’Connor Hospital was founded in 1921 and joined Bassett Healthcare Network in 1988.
