Dr. Lone Named Citizen of the Year by Sidney Chamber of Commerce

Dr. Riaz Lone has been selected as the 2018 Citizen of the Year by the Sidney Chamber of Commerce. Lone is an internal medicine physician with Bassett Healthcare Network and practices at the 59 River St. primary care center in Sidney.

In announcing Lone as Citizen of the Year, Jaime Cole, president of the Chamber of Commerce, said, "Through your work with the community and patients of our area, you have made a sustained and substantial impact in this community. Thank you for all you have done for our community."

Cole noted that Lone began his practice in Sidney 35 years ago and over the past three decades has served as the primary doctor for countless individuals. "Even when 'The Hospital' closed, you continually assured your patients that their needs would still be met and you would continue to do what had to be done to treat your patients," said Cole.

Lone has also served as a member of the county board of health, Delaware County Health Director and he worked with the Boys & Girls Club.

"I am humbled and honored to be named Citizen of the Year," said Lone. "I deeply appreciate the recognition; my co-workers and family helped guide me to the person I am today."
