December 22, 2023Categories: Bassett News
This summer, retired Bassett physician Dr. Douglas DeLong traveled to London, England to receive his fellowship into the Royal College of Physicians (RCP). Noting that the RCP was founded in 1518, Dr. DeLong says that he feels honored to be included in the ranks of such an historic institution.
For the past 500 years, the RCP has been promoting the advancement of the practice of medicine, in London, Britain, and internationally. To become a fellow of the RCP, doctors must undergo a nomination and review process. If approved, they are then inducted at a ceremony in London.
Dr. DeLong served as Chief of the Division of General Internal Medicine at Prime Care in Cooperstown for 18 years until his retirement in January 2022. He resides in the town of Roseboom, in Otsego County, NY.
Congratulations, Dr. DeLong! Those who have known you as a patient or a colleague here in Central New York know this honor is well-deserved.
