From our visionary founders forward, women have always been essential to defining and pursuing Bassett Healthcare Network's mission to foster healthy rural communities. This Women's History Month, we are highlighting just a few of the many Bassett women carrying on that legacy today.

Bassett Healthcare Network
A Nurse Who Elevates Nurses
Julie Rose, MSN, RN, HNB-BC, fills several roles across Bassett Healthcare Network. Since she came to Bassett in 2014 she has been a nurse attending to patients receiving care in Cobleskill Regional Hospital specialty clinics. A year ago she took on a second role as a nurse educator working out of Bassett Medical Center. In that capacity she welcomes and educates new nurses and aids during their new hire orientation with a special focus on nurse wellbeing. However, she is probably best known among her network colleague as the DAISY Award Coordinator.
The DAISY Award is an international nurse recognition program that celebrates the kindness and skill nurses bring to patients and families every day. In short, they honor those who provide the kind of compassionate care that is the bedrock of medicine but easily taken for granted unless intentionally celebrated.
