Bassett Healthcare Network Graduates 2024 Class of Nurse Practitioner Residents, Welcomes Four Graduates as New Clinicians

Cooperstown, NY — Four out of six of the 2024 graduates of Bassett Healthcare Network’s Post Graduate Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Residency Program have now joined Bassett as FNPs.
Caroline Donlon will see patients at Bassett Health Center Oneida (2031 Dream Catcher Plaza), Bridgit Hurst will see patients at Oneonta Fox Pediatrics (1 FoxCare Drive), Caroline Westbrook will see patients at Bassett Health Center Norwich (55 Calvary Drive) and Matusamunina (Matu) Zayobi will see patients at Little Falls Hospital (140 Burwell Street).
Bassett’s Post-Graduate Family Nurse Practitioner Residency Program is the largest rural-based nurse practitioner residency program on the east coast. It runs from September 1 to August 30 of the following year.
Through the residency, each graduate worked as full-time Bassett Healthcare Network employees, taking part in precepted clinical sessions, weekly sub-specialty clinics, didactics, workshops, seminars, daily chart rounds, and rotations, among other learning opportunities.
The goal of the program is two-fold. It aims to improve health outcomes and access for patients in rural areas as well as provide new clinicians with unique practicum experiences, so that they can confidently serve as primary care providers.
2024 graduates celebrated their achievements at a graduation ceremony held at The Otesaga Resort Hotel in Cooperstown on Sunday, August 25. The next class of eight new residents have now started orientation.
