Who’s Invited:
This course is open to anyone who is in the perimenopause to post-menopausal phase of life. Participants do not need to be Bassett patients or members of Clark Sports Center. There is no cost to participate.
Details:
Menopause brings many changes to your body, but one that you might not be expecting are effects on your pelvic health. This course provides an overview of the importance of pelvic floor health and therapy, including:
- Education on pelvic floor anatomy & pelvic girdle anatomy.
- Introduction to pelvic floor therapy.
- An overview of how menopause affects the body.
- Focus on how menopause affects the pelvic floor, specifically.
- Strategies for managing the symptoms of menopause.
About the Teachers:
- Amy Taggart, MSPT, is a Physical Therapist trained by the Herman & Wallace Institute.
- Lauren McCarthy Whaley, OT, is an Occupational Therapist also trained by the Herman & Wallace Institute.
- Both are active therapists practicing at Bassett Medical Center’s Physical and Occupational therapy clinic at the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown, NY.
