A hysterectomy (surgical removal of the uterus) is still one of the most common surgeries performed in the United States. It can be performed either through the vagina, using small incisions through the abdomen (laparoscopically), or through a single larger adominal incision (laparotomy), depending on the size of your uterus and the reason for your hysterectomy. Sometimes the cervix is left in place (supracervical hysterectomy). Sometimes it is recommended that the ovaries and fallopian tubes are removed as well. If a hysterectomy is medically necessary, our providers will be here to discuss options and help you choose the best one.
The da Vinci Surgical System is a state of the art system where our surgeons use tiny, 1-2 cm incisions to operate with great precision and control, minimizing the pain and risk associated with large incisions while increasing the likelihood of fast recovery and excellent clnical outcomes.
